We spend a lot of our days rushing from place to place, whether in a car or on public transport, and this is a great time to tune in to a podcast and learn something new.  Podcasts are brilliant at providing valuable insights, tips, and discussions about just about anything.  Sometimes it’s hard to know which to choose, and while we think you can take something from every podcast, we have listed some of our favourite ones to listen too, including our number one MUST listen pod – Can you guess which it might be?? 

IN THE ENVELOPE: THE ACTOR’S PODCAST

Backstage has been the #1 resource for actors and talent-seekers for 60 years. In the Envelope, Backstage’s podcast, features intimate, in-depth conversations with today’s most noteworthy film, television, and theatre actors and creators. Episodes are full of expert know how, covering everything from practical advice on navigating the industry, to how your favourite projects are made to personal stories of success and failure alike.  Recent guests on the show include Emma Stone, Fleabag hunk Andrew Scott and hot director of Saltburn Emerald Fennell.  A must listen for all creatives!

INSIDE ACTING PODCAST

Inside Acting is a weekly podcast featuring in depth, unbiased interviews with industry professionals, discussions on the craft of acting, and insights into the entertainment business. The hosts share their own experiences as actors alongside guests, and touch on all sorts of topics like how to get started, self-taping, becoming a successful voice actor and much more.  With over 300 episodes, it is certainly one to check out.

THE ACTING PODCAST

The Acting Podcast with Risa Bramon Garcia (director, casting director, producer) & Steve Braun (acting coach, communication consultant), founders of The BGB Studio, takes you inside the craft of acting, bringing other Industry experts into the conversation.  The hosts really dig into the work, pulling back the curtain of the industry, and aims to empower their listens as artists by sharing their experiences. 

ONE BROKE ACTRESS

Financially, mentally, physically, or otherwise…most actors are at least a little broke!  Host/actress Sam Valentine brings advice, tips, and real stories (of success AND failure) from people in and around the acting industry right now.  From auditions and the day-to-day life of working actors to getting agents/managers, she covers it all in a very easy to listen to, relatable way.  A great, inspiring, and funny podcast.

A BALANCING ACT

A Balancing Act is hosted by Analisa Leaming. The focus is on sharing conscious, uplifting, and inspiring conversations about navigating the ups and downs of show business, focusing largely on stage acting.  She shares resources such as free meditations to listen to before an audition, how to have a creative breakthrough, finding freedom on the stage as well as sharing her own experiences of her Broadway career.   Something a little different to listen too, but a must try if you are looking for a podcast that helps you connect and centre yourself with your passion. 

THAT ONE AUDITION WITH ALYSHIA OCHSE

Film/Television Actress, Producer, Best-Selling Author and Entrepreneur Alyshia Ochse hosts an honest, humorous and inspirational podcast with your favourite on-screen storytellers and Hollywood influencers who reveal their most life changing audition tales as well as the survival skills they’ve collected along the way.  The podcast explores the highs and lows of a performer’s journey and really shows that sometimes it just takes that ONE audition to totally change your life.

Actress and iampro founder Charlie Brooks talks to performers, actors and theatre and film makers about their journey into the industry, their process as creatives and what they wish they’d have known when they were younger!  So far she has chatted to incredible talent such as Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli, Laura Whitmore, and of course some Eastenders faves like Jake Wood and Gary Beale. The podcast is available on all platforms, and on YouTube if you prefer to watch the interviews happening.
