This class is an introduction into the magical world of performing arts, instilling your little ones with joy, confidence, co-ordination and finding their voices! Sing, dance, act, play and make friends, not just the children but parents too!

MINIS

Age: 5-7
Time: 11am – 12:30pm
Price: £175 per term
All fees are based on a 12-week term.

This class is a well-rounded introduction into performing arts training. With games, exercises, routines and play. This class teaches them basic technique, gives them essential life-skills and confidence and is based around having FUN!

JUNIORS

Age: 8-12
Time: 10am – 1pm
Price: £350 per term
All fees are based on a 12-week term, students also receive free access to iampro online (more training & opportunities). 

These sessions aim to push potential, nurture talent, explore technique and provide performing opportunities for students. Includes a musical theatre class and an acting class. Fun is at the heart of what we do, while providing high quality performing arts training and life-skills. We want our students to gain technique and confidence, whether they just enjoy it as a hobby or whether they are looking at further education or stepping out into the professional world – this class will provide them with the toolkit they need to take the next steps in their performing journey as an artist. Junior and Foundation students have FREE access to IAMPRO, the online drama school, where they can find additional resources, take more online classes and have the opportunity to be seen by top industry professionals.

FOUNDATION

Age: 13-17
Time: 11:30am – 2:30pm
Price: £350 per term
All fees are based on a 12-week term, students also receive free access to iampro online (more training & opportunities).

A wealth of talent exists in our small corner of the world and at Iampro we aim to provide training and opportunities for those exploring or navigating a professional career in acting. This class provides adults of all ages with regular actor training incorporating scene study, text work, performance technique, auditioning/self-taping practices and industry knowledge. Our adult students will also be registered on the IAMPRO online platform which offers 24/7 access to additional courses, regular classes, a supportive community and professional showcase opportunities.

OWEN JAMES

PRINCIPAL

Owen's performing arts journey began as part of amateur theatre groups in his hometown of Craigavon where he developed interests in music and acting. He is an experienced singer/songwriter, actor and filmmaker.

Owen has studied performing arts with ‘BIFHE’ (now Belfast Metropolitan College), ‘The Houde School of Acting’ in Ohio, ‘Bow Street’ in Dublin, and ‘Iampro’.His recent TV credits include ‘Blue Lights’ (BBC/Two Cities Television/Gallagher Productions), ‘Hope Street’ (BBC/Long Story TV) and ‘Say Nothing’ (Disney/FX). Owen has also appeared in a number of independent film projects including ‘Haunted Ulster Live’ (Beyond Visible Films), and the self produced award winning short ‘The Good Cheese’. Following the success of this film, Owen has set-up his own production company called ‘Good Cheese Productions Ltd’.Theatre work includes the musical ‘Our House’ at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, as well as immersive works ‘Fright Night’ and ‘Enchanted Winter Garden’.Owen is committed to providing high quality training and opportunities to young performers and adult actors in Belfast.

AIDEEN DONOGHUE

JNR & FOUNDATION DANCE

Aideen Donoghue is a seasoned performer with over 25 years of experience across stage and screen. At just 16, she was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts, where she began her professional training and launched her career in the performing arts.

Since then, Aideen has toured globally in iconic productions such as 42nd Street, Rock of Ages, Dancing Queen, and the world-renowned Spirit of the Dance. She has performed extensively on luxury cruise ships, bringing world-class entertainment to international audiences, and is a familiar face in Belfast’s Grand Opera House pantomimes.Her television credits include The Paul O’Grady Show, The X Factor, National Television Awards, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and the Royal Variety Performance.With a career spanning stage, screen, and sea, Aideen is now excited to bring her passion, knowledge, and wealth of experience to the next generation of performers as part of iampro in Belfast.

CIARA POWER

JNR & FOUNDATION MUSICAL THEATRE

Ciara trained in Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, after a degree in German and Music at King's College London.Since graduating, she has worked - alongside her performance career in the UK, Ireland and abroad - as a performing arts teacher, in the disciplines of drama, dance and singing.

She was a regular teacher at Jigsaw Performing Arts in London for 5 years, and has been teaching with Belfast School of Performing Arts for the last 4 years, as well as covering classes and workshops with many companies and outreach programs in Belfast and London.She aims to bring lots of fun to each class, and hopes students can help develop their expression and confidence through the arts.

NIAMH MCPHILLIPS

JNR & FOUNDATION ACTING

Niamh is from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. She graduated from TU Dublin Conservatoire Of Music and Drama with a BA in Drama (Performance) and has an MA in movement directing and teaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

She has been in several theatre productions such as ‘Love Me Do’ by James O’Donnell in the Cavan Arts Festival 2024, as Inga Ingram, in the world premiere of ‘Looking At The Sun’ by Emily Bohannon at the Smock Alley Theatre and Civic Theatre. Also, the children’s clown show, ‘Hear Me Speak’ by Miriam Needham in the Hawks well theatre and ‘The Half Coat’ by Eoghan Maria Lovett in the Cavan County Museum for Culture Night 2023.Niamh has worked in several different forms of drama such as Dance, teaching/facilitation, Audio and Opera. She is an alumni of the Monaghan Youth Theatre. She has performed in visual artist’s Lisa Freeman’s ‘Slipped, Fell and Smacked my face off the dance floor’, ‘Approx One Second of A Sweet Kiss’ and Jesse Jones’ ‘The Tower’.

ORLA GRAHAM

Orla Graham is a facilitator and theatre director based in Belfast. She trained at the Lir Academy, Dublin and with Tinderbox Theatre Company in their Play Machine course. Orla has taught for companies such as the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast School of Performing Arts, Ajendance, and the Performer's Academy.

Orla is also an actor and writer. Her recent credits include: Rapunzel (GBL Productions, The Armagh Marketplace Theatre), Float (Crybaby Productions, Flagey Theatre, Assembly Roxy, Outside, Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Cinderella (Brassneck Theatre Company), Re-Mix (Brassneck Productions), Fallen Women (Lyric Theatre, Belfast), Two Fingers Up (Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith/Cairns Lecture Theatre, Summerhall, Edinburgh Fringe Festival); Blue Lights (BBC One/Two Cities Television/Gallagher Productions); Heave (DUETS Programme in association with Fishamble, Irish Theatre Institute and Dublin Fringe Festival).Float was written by Orla and her writing partner Kirby Thompson, and produced by their company Crybaby Productions, alongside Commedia dell’Arte. Float has toured throughout Ireland, Scotland and Belgium.She is incredibly excited to join iampro as a Tots and Minis Teacher!

PATRICIA MCDONALD

Patricia McDonald is an accomplished Irish actor, drama facilitator, and youth theatre director. She holds a BA in Drama from Queen's University Belfast and has completed professional training through the Lyric Theatre's prestigious Drama Studio programme. Patricia is also a proud member of the National Theatre of Great Britain.

With extensive experience as a drama facilitator, Patricia has worked with schools and theatre companies across Northern Ireland and Great Britain. She has consistently achieved a 100% pass rate with students undertaking LCM (London College of Music) examinations and has successfully coached participants for various performance festivals throughout Northern Ireland.In addition to her work in theatre education, Patricia has over six years of experience as a children’s entertainer. She is deeply passionate about inspiring and nurturing the next generation of performers, sharing her knowledge and love for theatre in creative and engaging ways. Patricia is super excited to join the team at iampro Belfast.
