MINIS

Age: 4-7

This class is a well-rounded introduction into performing arts training. With games, exercises, routines and play – this class teaches them basic technique, gives them essential life-skills and confidence and is based around having FUN!

JUNIORS

Age: 8-12
Time: 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm
Price: £350 per term
All fees are based on a 12-week term, students also receive free access to iampro online (more training & opportunities). Payment plans are available.

This class is to push potential, nurture talent, explore technique and provide performing opportunities for students. Fun is at the heart of what we do, while providing high quality performing arts training and life-skills. We want our students to gain technique and confidence, whether they just enjoy it as a hobby or whether they want to take their first steps into the profession – this class will provide them with the toolkit they need as a young performer. Junior students have FREE access to IAMPRO the online drama school, where they can find additional resources, take more online classes and have the opportunity to be seen by top industry professionals.

FOUNDATION

Age: 13-17

This class is to work to a high level – push potential, nurture talent, explore technique and provide performing opportunities for students. Fun is at the heart of what we do, while providing high quality performing arts training and life-skills. We want our students to gain technique and confidence, whether they just enjoy it as a hobby or whether they are looking at further education or stepping out into the professional world – this class will provide them with the toolkit they need to take their next step on their performing arts journey as an artist. SUMMER SHOW IN A WEEK

Our summer show in a week – Midsummer Musicals was a HUGE HIT! Our cast were phenomenal and the team worked so hard. Five days to put on a show is no easy feat, but all of the students smashed it. 

END OF YEAR SHOW STOPPER

Our students were exceptional in the end of year show stopper and the team were phenomenal with awesome audiences, full of applause! Watching the show come together in only 12 weeks and seeing the improvement in students was incredibly moving.

We are incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved in our first year at iampro Derby. From a brilliant first show to watching our students grow in confidence each week, it’s been an unforgettable journey so far.

At iampro Derby, our mission is to provide high-quality training in Acting and Musical Theatre for young performers of all abilities. Whether a student joins us for fun or dreams of a future in the industry, we aim to equip them with the technique, confidence, life skills and joy that come from performing in a supportive and inspiring environment.

BETH & LEWIS WILSON

PRINCIPALS

Beth is a professional actress with years of teaching and theatre school management experience. Lewis has built and grown several businesses and has extensive knowledge of the performing arts industry.

After a hugely successful year of running iampro Derby, they can’t wait to continue providing a fun, safe space with high-quality training to make the arts more accessible and help young performers to learn and thrive.

SALLY MINNETT

MANAGER

Sally is a performer, actor, and specialist teacher in singing and acting. She has been teaching in the performing arts industry for over five years, working across London and the Midlands.

Sally trained at Stageworks College in Cambridgeshire and went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre at the London College of Music. She was also awarded a Licenciate of the London College of Music (LLCM). Sally is now in the final year of her MA in Dramatherapy, expanding her knowledge of how the arts can support emotional wellbeing. Her therapeutic training makes her highly attuned to the emotions of those she works with, and compassion sits at the core of her teaching style. She is a strong believer in the power of the performing arts as both a creative outlet and a healing aid for children. With extensive experience supporting young people with additional needs, Sally focuses on creating inclusive environments where every child feels safe, valued, and able to explore their creativity. Sally has loved being part of the iampro team over the past year, cherishing every moment of teaching and inspiring her students. She has loved  watching the school grow and is super excited to begin this next chapter with iampro Derby!

CARMEN ROSE MCKAY

ACTING TEACHER

Carmen-Rose began her training in Musical Theatre at ArtsEd and later completed a BA in Acting for Stage and Screen, receiving the Steven Hartley Scholarship.

She spent five years performing with The Walt Disney Company, where she was part of the opening cast for an award-winning Christmas parade, featured in the 30th anniversary TV advert for Disneyland Paris, performed in the first-ever global Princess Week, and joined the first Disney cast to cross the equator and perform in the Southern Hemisphere. She also played a lead role in a Marvel combat show, among many other exciting projects. Carmen-Rose is passionate about helping young people grow through performance and is currently studying for a Master’s in Dramatherapy at the University of Derby. She’s thrilled to be part of the Iampro Derby family.

EMILY BARKER

MUSICAL THEATRE TEACHER

Emily is an ex professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars Ireland for 6 seasons and a finalist for 3 years and the 2023 winner. Emily is a British champion Latin & Ballroom dancer but also trained in Contemporary & Commercial.

With large experience in choreography- Dancing with the Stars, she has secured many choreography roles including full pantomime productions & group performances on Irish Tv. Emily has toured for the 5 years with DWTS, Strictly come dancing, Giovanni Pernice & was leading lady to Mcflys Harry Judd in the now west end production of “RIP IT UP” also leading lady to Striclty’s Alijaz Skorjaneic on “Here Come The Boys” & finally, leading lady to boy band member Of The Wanted Jay McGuiness in “RIP IT UP THE 50s”.

MIKAYLA WINFIELD

MINIS TEACHER

Mikayla started dancing when she was 13, training in every aspect of dance and the performing arts genre. She has taken IDTA exams for ballet, tap, jazz, freestyle disco and street dance.

Mikayla graduated from Expressions Academy of Performing Arts in Nottingham in 2023. During her time at EPA she did many performing arts jobs such as appearing as a supporting artist in Netflix’s original series ’Champion’ and BBC’s Doctors. Mikayla has also gained her Pre-Association teaching qualification in Freestyle Disco and she is currently working towards her Associate level exam; helping her work towards her dream of being a dance teacher, theatre adjudicator and freestyle and lyrical judge. Mikayla is thrilled to be continuing another year with iampro Derby, and can’t wait to see the progress that the student will make!

LOUISE COLVER

MINIS ASSISTANT

Louise discovered her passion for working with children five years ago when she became a school librarian. She loves helping children realise their potential by developing their literacy skills and believes that learning should be fun; she particularly enjoys any opportunities to dress up, for example on World Book Day, and runs lively activities such as escape rooms and treasure hunts.

She wants to create a culture where children feel safe and able to express themselves , and can’t wait to start to see all the happy, smiling faces, new and familiar, at iampro Derby this year.

ABIGAIL PRITCHARD

SCHOOL ASSISTANT

Abigail has a BA in Musical Theatre from the University of Chester. Abigail has been cast in several musicals including Carrie, Ruthless!, Into the Woods, and A Chorus Line.

And several pantomimes: Dick Whittington, Peter Pan: Hook’s Revenge, The Wizard of Oz. With a huge passion for performing arts, Abigail is delighted to be joining the iampro Derby team and can’t wait to see all the students’ progress!
